The Bullock Distillery is releasing Piney Creek Bourbon Whiskey. On its label, the new bourbon features one of the waterfalls in the Piney Creek Preserve in Raleigh County. A West Virginia artist created the label.
This fine single-barrel release honors the Piney Creek Preserve in Beckley, West Virginia. Part of the larger Beckley Outdoor Economy Action Plan, the preserve is a 613-acre recreation area cared for in partnership with the West Virginia Land Trust. Piney Creek Preserve offers miles of recreation trails, following coal seams on historic mine branches as it snakes its way down to the New River Gorge. The vision of Beckley Outdoors is to establish the City of Beckley as a premier outdoor destination that celebrates southern West Virginia’s Appalachian heritage. Beckley is on the way to creating a one-of-a-kind Appalachian city – a portion of the proceeds of this fine bottle helps make this happen!
Bullock Distillery co-owner Tighe Bullock said, “Crafting a bourbon that supports and features his hometown is a dream come true. It sounds cheesy to say this, but it is. It’s like closing the loop in some ways on what I want to do in my professional career path. I’ve always been thinking, ever since I was a kid, like how can I help Beckley and how can I help my areas, my communities. So this is a dream come true.”
Piney Creek Bourbon is part of a single barrel release, only 300 bottles. Bullock continued, “He’d like to try to use water from Piney Creek as part of the proofing process.”
