BARDSTOWN, Ky. (Nov. 5, 2026) — 15 STARS is opening its aged Kentucky bourbon inventory to private barrel selections, launching a single barrel program under its First West line for retailers, restaurants and private groups.

The initial offerings feature Kentucky bourbons aged six to 10 years. Each selected barrel will be bottled at cask proof with minimal filtration to remove barrel char, preserving its individual character.

The program gives participants an opportunity to explore individual barrels from the whiskey inventory 15 STARS has assembled for its portfolio, offering a different perspective on a brand known for its blends.

“We believe every barrel plays an important role in creating our award-winning blends, but a rare few possess the character to stand on their own,” said Rick Johnson, co-founder of 15 STARS. “Through our single barrel program, we’re able to showcase these exceptional barrels and give whiskey enthusiasts the opportunity to experience what makes each one truly unique.”

Participants will take part in a guided tasting of barrels preselected by the 15 STARS team before choosing the bourbon that best fits their preferences or customers.

Each selection will produce an exclusive, limited quantity of whiskey from that barrel. Once those bottles are gone, the same barrel cannot be offered again, making the program an opportunity for stores, restaurants and bourbon groups to obtain a distinctive release.

The broader 15 STARS inventory spans multiple mash bills, ages, cooperages and maturation profiles. It includes bourbons made with rye or wheat as flavoring grains, along with a growing inventory of proprietary heirloom-corn bourbons distilled by 15 STARS.

The debut single barrel selections will use First West’s antique blue bottle, a design inspired by early Kentucky-made glass bottles used for bourbon.

Proof will depend on the individual barrel, with each release bottled at its cask strength rather than a uniform proof across the program.

The launch adds a private selection option for businesses and groups seeking a bourbon tailored to their tastes, while allowing 15 STARS to highlight barrels outside the context of its blended releases.

The program is rolling out through select private barrel partners, with additional opportunities planned as it expands. Pricing and the number of barrels available were not included in the announcement.

Retailers, restaurants and private groups interested in participating can submit an inquiry through the 15 STARS contact form.
