LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (Nov. 5, 2026) — Larrikin Bourbon Co. is bringing back American Maple, its Kentucky straight bourbon finished in maple syrup barrels, with availability in markets nationwide beginning Nov. 15.
The returning expression is bottled at 90 proof, or 45% alcohol by volume, and carries a suggested retail price of $60 for a 750-milliliter bottle.
Its production takes the barrels on a round trip between Kentucky and Wisconsin, building maple character through a finishing process that begins long before the bourbon returns to the wood.
Larrikin sends emptied bourbon barrels to a Wisconsin maple farm, where they hold American maple syrup for six months. After the syrup is bottled, the barrels return to Kentucky and are filled with Larrikin bourbon. That final stage imparts what the company describes as a subtle maple character.
The approach connects the bourbon’s Kentucky foundation with syrup-seasoned barrels, adding another layer to the whiskey through its finishing cask.
“My mates have been carrying on about American Maple since the last bottles disappeared,” said Greg Keeley, founder and distiller of Larrikin Bourbon Co. “Fair enough. We wanted it back, too. We’re chuffed.”
The company said the release is returning in response to customer demand following its previous sellout.
American Maple also returns with recognition from spirits competitions and reviewers. It earned platinum and 94 points at the 2025 Monterey International Spirits Competition, along with platinum at the 2025 Distillers Challenge International Spirits Competition.
Spirits Review Online awarded it 95 points. Reviewer Rich Cook highlighted maple and toasted oak aromas, a silky texture and a “warming and spicy” finish.
Those descriptions are the reviewer’s assessment of the whiskey, offering a sense of the profile behind the returning release.
Based in Lawrenceburg, Larrikin is a veteran-owned bourbon company that combines an Australian identity with Kentucky bourbon tradition. American Maple reflects that approach through a Kentucky-distilled foundation and a finishing process shaped by its partnership with a Wisconsin maple producer.
Larrikin American Maple will return to markets nationwide Nov. 15. The announcement did not specify individual retailers or state-by-state allocations.
