LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. — Kentucky-distilled Larrikin Bourbon is continuing its national expansion, adding Florida as the 15th state where its spirits are available.
Larrikin Bourbon Company and Koala Bare Spirits have entered a statewide distribution partnership with Green Light Distribution, bringing both brands to retailers across Florida.
The companies said Larrikin Bourbon and Koala Bare products are available immediately through independent retailers and ABC Fine Wine & Spirits locations throughout the state.
“Florida is a bloody important market for us,” said Greg Keeley, founder and distiller of Larrikin Bourbon Company. “There’s a strong appetite for distinctive whiskey, premium spirits and brands with a bit of personality. Green Light understands how to build brands properly, and we’re excited to get Larrikin and Koala Bare onto shelves — and into glasses — across the state.”
Based in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, Larrikin has carved out its own identity in the increasingly crowded American whiskey market by combining Kentucky distilling with Keeley’s Australian roots.
The distillery produces bourbon, rye whiskey and specialty spirits in Kentucky, while Koala Bare focuses on Australian-inspired gin featuring distinctive botanical profiles.
The addition of Florida expands Larrikin’s distribution footprint to 15 states as the company continues building a national presence outside Kentucky.
“Larrikin and Koala Bare bring something genuinely different to the Florida market,” said Jon Dickson, senior vice president of Green Light Distribution. “The quality is exceptional, the brands are memorable, and the team has a compelling story that connects with both retailers and consumers.”
Dickson said Green Light plans to build the brands’ presence with retailers and consumers throughout Florida.
For Larrikin, the Florida agreement represents another step in taking a relatively young Kentucky whiskey brand into major spirits markets around the country.
Florida also provides the company access to a large tourism and hospitality market, giving Larrikin an opportunity to introduce its Kentucky-made whiskey to consumers from across the United States and abroad.
The expansion comes as Kentucky distilleries large and small increasingly look beyond their home market for growth, making distributor relationships a critical part of building national recognition in a competitive American whiskey category.
Keeley said reaching 15 states is an important milestone but not the end of the company’s expansion plans. “Fifteen states is a terrific milestone, but we’re nowhere near finished,” Keeley said. “Florida, you’re up. Let’s have a drink.”
