GETHSEMANE, Ky. — Log Still Distillery is expanding its spirits production in Kentucky as the Nelson County distillery becomes the new production home for Valiant Vodka.
Valiant, an American vodka brand that supports military members, veterans and first responders through a partnership with the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, will now be produced at Log Still’s distillery campus in Gethsemane.
The vodka is distilled from 100% American corn and is produced without additives. The brand is also gluten-free and certified kosher.
“Bringing Valiant Vodka to Log Still Distillery is especially meaningful because this is a brand grounded in service, sacrifice and giving back,” said Wally Dant, president and founder of Log Still Distillery. “Those values align closely with who we are as a family and as a company. We are honored to become the home where Valiant Vodka is produced and to help share its purpose with more people.”
Valiant Vodka was founded by a former fire chief and a beverage-alcohol industry veteran. The brand was created around its stated values of “Honor, Service and Strength,” with a portion of proceeds from each bottle benefiting the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
The foundation was established in memory of New York City firefighter Stephen Siller, who died while responding to the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.
Tunnel to Towers provides mortgage-free homes to Gold Star families and families of fallen first responders, builds specially adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders and operates programs addressing veteran homelessness.
“Valiant Vodka was created for people who believe a brand should stand for something greater,” said Richard J. DeCicco, a founding partner of Valiant Vodka. “Our partnership with Log Still Distillery gives Valiant a Kentucky home that shares our commitment to craftsmanship, community and honoring those who serve.”
Valiant will also become more visible across Log Still’s Kentucky hospitality operations.
The vodka will be served on the Gethsemane campus and will be available at Monks Road Boiler House, Log Still’s restaurant and tasting room on Whiskey Row in downtown Louisville.
T
he production partnership adds another spirit to Log Still Distillery’s growing operations in Nelson County. The Dant family-owned distillery produces its Monk’s Road line of bourbon and other spirits at its expansive Gethsemane campus.
Log Still has developed the property as more than a traditional distillery, combining whiskey production with tourism, lodging, dining and entertainment. The campus includes The Amp outdoor entertainment venue and other hospitality offerings designed to attract visitors to the Kentucky Bourbon Trail region.
The announcement was made in connection with Log Still’s Sept. 11 concert featuring country music artist Jamey Johnson at The Amp. Valiant Vodka was served during the concert, which coincided with the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.
The move gives Valiant a production base in the heart of Kentucky’s distilling industry while adding another contract or partner-produced spirits brand to Log Still’s Gethsemane operations.
