MIDWAY, Ky. — Kentucky-based Chevalier Casks has unveiled the Chevalier Casks Exchange, a new broker-managed online marketplace designed to simplify the buying and selling of whiskey barrels, bulk spirits and cooperage across the distilled spirits industry.

The new platform expands the company’s established brokerage services by giving distilleries, brand owners, bottlers and other industry partners multiple ways to source or market inventory while continuing to provide expert guidance throughout each transaction.

Unlike traditional online marketplaces, the Exchange combines digital listings with hands-on brokerage support. Buyers can browse available inventory through Buy Now listings, submit direct offers, participate in negotiated sales or bid in timed auctions. Sellers work directly with the Chevalier team to determine the most effective sales strategy based on the type of inventory and their business objectives.

The launch comes as many distilleries face increasing pressure to balance aging inventories, production schedules and capital needs. Transactions involving whiskey barrels and bulk spirits often require much more than agreeing on a price, including ownership verification, bonded warehouse transfers, financing, documentation and regulatory compliance.

“Access to inventory is only valuable if customers can move the opportunity forward,” said Coby Adkins, co-founder of Chevalier Casks. “The Exchange gives buyers and sellers more ways to pursue opportunities while keeping our team involved when transactions become more complex.”

Chevalier’s role often begins before inventory is listed. The company works with sellers to review assets, verify ownership records and coordinate with federally bonded warehouses when necessary. Once terms are accepted, Chevalier manages contracts, payment processing, transfer documentation and settlement. As part of its confidential brokerage model, the company temporarily takes title to inventory to preserve the anonymity of both buyer and seller.

Co-founder Ben Franzini said the Exchange was designed to address every stage of a transaction rather than simply providing a listing service.

“A listing is only the beginning,” Franzini said. “Ownership records, warehouse location, financing, documentation, transfer requirements and timing all have to align. We built the Exchange around the complete transaction.”

Beyond facilitating sales, Chevalier also connects customers with financing resources and assists with bonded warehousing, bottling, packaging and logistics through its industry network. The company says this allows customers to move inventory efficiently from acquisition through its next commercial stage.

The Exchange complements Chevalier’s existing brokerage business rather than replacing it. Traditional direct brokerage and confidential, off-market sourcing services will continue to be a core part of the company’s operations.

Chevalier Casks was founded by a leadership team with experience spanning finance, law, distilling, operations, barrel sourcing and inventory management. Along with Adkins and Franzini, the company includes Sam Rock, an attorney and co-founder and first distiller of Bluegrass Distillers.

The Chevalier Casks Exchange is now live, allowing buyers to browse available listings and timed sales while sellers can submit inventory for consideration.

Chevalier Casks is headquartered in Midway, Kentucky, and serves distilleries, brand owners, bottlers and other spirits industry partners through brokerage, confidential sourcing and commercial transaction services.
