When does the name not describe the contents? I know.

The answer is Breckenridge Distillery’s newest offering, Sexy Motor Oil. The bourbon has been aged between 10 and 13 months in Breckenridge Brewery beer barrels.

The name is sure to raise some eyebrows across the bourbon world as the distillery continues to push the envelope with new inventive ideas.

REVIEW:

At 109.5 proof, Sexy Motor Oil is a limited release due to its curing process. The oatmeal stout beer-barrel finish produces a rich chocolate and caramel aroma.

If you pause before taking a sip, letting the ethanol dissipate from the rim, you could swear you are eating a chocolate-covered banana. I wondered if an oatmeal flavor would peek through, but it did not. The finish was packed full of caramel and cinnamon flavors wrapped in oak.

It was a little hotter than I liked, but the burn lifted with time in the glass. If you can find this little gem, I would snatch it up in a heartbeat.

This whiskey receives 4/5 Barrels.
