LOUISVILLE, KY – Jackson Purchase Distillery is following up last year’s debut release with two new expressions – offering bourbon fans new ways to experience their award-winning product.
Jackson Purchase released its flagship Select Batch Bourbon in September of 2025, with a first bottling labeled “Batch No. 1.” The 117.8 proof bourbon immediately drew rave reviews at the Kentucky Bourbon Festival and throughout the whiskey press. It’s also collected an impressive array of honors – including two Double Platinum nods from the 2026 ASCOT Awards.
Originally available only at Kentucky retailers, the overwhelming reception led Jackson Purchase to launch online sales to other states in early 2026. To make sure fans in Kentucky still have something of their own, KY Bourbon Hall of Fame Master Distiller Craig Beam and Head Distiller Terry Ballard created Jackson Purchase Kentucky Select Bourbon.
“Our friends here in Kentucky cheered us on from the very start, so we wanted to make something special just for them,” said Beam. “Terry and I carefully selected some barrels that really show off what’s unique about our bourbon, and then we bottled it at just the right proof to highlight those flavors.”
The flavor of Kentucky extends to the outside of the bottle as well, with a blue color theme featuring the Seal of the Commonwealth of Kentucky as well as a bit of Kentucky history.
Tasting the new bourbon at its final 108 proof, Beam remarked, “It reminds me of when I was working with my grandfather and dad. The smell of the yeast always reminded me of banana pudding and that’s exactly the memory that Kentucky Select brought back. I loved that smell!”
Beam also noted flavors of cinnamon, butterscotch, a hint of maple syrup, and “just the right amount of spice.”
Jackson Purchase produces 100% of the bourbon in all of its expressions at its Hickman distillery – nothing is sourced from elsewhere. That distinction is especially important when it comes to the company’s other new release: Jackson Purchase Bottled in Bond Bourbon.
Bottled-in-bond is a strict legal designation stretching back to the 1897 law that created the first standards for bourbon. In addition to meeting the present-day definition, Bourbons labeled bottled in bond must meet several stricter criteria: All the whiskey must be created at a single distillery in the United States in a single distilling season. It must also be aged for a minimum of 4 years in a federally bonded warehouse, and the only additive allowed is pure water in order to reach exactly 100 proof.
“Bottled-in-bond is the ultimate test of a distiller’s art as it demands the most consistency to produce a quality product, season after season,” said Head Distiller Terry Ballard. We accepted this challenge to demonstrate the traditional way we make bourbon at Jackson Purchase Distillery, day after day, year after year.”
Beam described Jackson Purchase Bottled in Bond Bourbon as having “A hint of spices, but simple, with just enough touch of oak.” His other tasting notes included, “It’s smooth and easy to drink. Creamy on the back of the pallet with a buttery finish.”
The first deliveries of Jackson Purchase’s two new bourbons are now hitting retail shelves in Kentucky, and Bottled in Bond will eventually be available more broadly and online.
Jackson Purchase Kentucky Select Bourbon carries a suggested retail price of $64.95, while Jackson Purchase Bottled in Bond Bourbon will sell for $49.95.
