LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Mike Rowe’s KNOBEL Tennessee Whiskey has released a seven-year-old single-barrel special edition celebrating the 18th anniversary of the mikeroweWORKS Foundation, connecting a limited whiskey offering with the organization’s mission of helping Americans pursue skilled trades.
Drawn from just four barrels, the release is bottled between 121 and 121.7 proof and priced at $104.95 per 750-milliliter bottle. It is available through the KNOBEL website, with sales supporting the foundation.
The anniversary edition brings together two ventures inspired by Rowe’s grandfather, Carl Knobel, a skilled tradesman whose commitment to craftsmanship and hard work helped shape both the whiskey brand and the foundation.
Rowe, creator and host of Discovery Channel’s “Dirty Jobs,” established mikeroweWORKS to help people obtain training for in-demand occupations. According to the announcement, the foundation has awarded $22.5 million in work-ethic scholarships to 3,350 recipients.
The new whiskey celebrates that work while continuing KNOBEL’s support for trade school scholarships.
“What a privilege it’s been, to have a TV show, a foundation, and now a whiskey all inspired by the same man,” Rowe said. “Especially one so ridiculously delicious! And what an honor it’s been to share my grandfather’s commitment to hard work with so many, along with his name, and his dedication to the skilled trades.”
The seven-year special edition is produced using the Lincoln County Process, the charcoal-filtering method associated with Tennessee whiskey. It is aged in hand-toasted, new American oak barrels.
Its single-barrel format preserves the identity of each selected barrel, with a small variation in bottling strength across the four-barrel release. At 121 to 121.7 proof, the whiskey ranges from 60.5% to 60.85% alcohol by volume.
The limited selection gives the anniversary release a distinct place in KNOBEL’s growing collection of whiskey expressions. Its connection to mikeroweWORKS also carries forward the brand’s focus on recognizing the people behind skilled work.
“The money we’ve raised through KNOBEL Tennessee Whiskey will continue to help pay for trade school scholarships all over the country, hopefully, for many years to come,” Rowe said.
The foundation’s scholarship mission focuses on helping the next generation access training for careers in the trades. For KNOBEL, supporting that effort is part of the brand’s identity rather than a connection limited to this anniversary bottling.
Other offerings sold through the whiskey’s website also support the foundation. The announcement did not specify a per-bottle donation amount for the seven-year release.
Knobel Spirits LLC was founded by Denise Longarzo, Rowe, Volker Schauz and Mary Sullivan. Named for Carl Knobel, the company describes its whiskey brand as a tribute to workers whose craftsmanship and contributions often go unseen.
