After more than a decade away from the U.S. market, Laphroaig 15-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is back, this time as a permanent addition to the Islay distillery’s core portfolio.
Matured for 15 years in American oak bourbon casks, the expression offers a more nuanced take on Laphroaig’s smoky style. Its tasting notes include sea salt, smoke and black pepper, followed by peach and grapefruit on the finish.
Laphroaig partnered with Women Who Whiskey to celebrate the release as the club marks its own 15th anniversary. The organization has nearly 20,000 members. Sarah Dowling, Suntory Global Spirits’ senior whisky blender for Scotch and Irish whisky, hosted special tastings for Women Who Whiskey members, giving guests an opportunity to explore the expression with one of the women behind it.
Laphroaig 15-Year-Old is bottled at 46% alcohol by volume and is available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $89.

About Laphroaig®
Established in 1815, Laphroaig, the number one selling Islay single malt globally* synonymous with the famous whisky island in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland, remains one of the world’s most distinctive single malts, with an unmistakable flavour and unforgettable drinking experience.
The whisky embodies the character of Islay, with its intense smokiness from the unique local peat, naturally infused with marine vegetation, and a hint of salt from the sea air; vital components to achieve the signature style. It is one of only a few distilleries continuing to make whisky using traditional techniques, including hand-turning the barley on its malting floor to infused it with the peat aroma. Expressions continue to be globally recognised.
Recent accolades include gold at the 2025 International Wine & Spirit Competition for its 10-Year-Old and 18-Year-Old, Elements 2.0 named Whisky Advocate’s ‘Whisky of the Year’ 2024 and double gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2022 for its 10-Year-Old. Laphroaig has championed bold character for over 200 years, from the distinctive taste of its whisky to celebrating people who think differently and act with conviction.
Its former owner, Bessie Williamson, epitomised a boldness of spirit, breaking barriers as one of the first women to own and run a Scotch whisky distillery. Laphroaig is championing peatland restoration on Islay, to protect its home and the unforgettable taste of its iconic single malt.
Through Suntory Global Spirits’ Peatland Water Sanctuary™ initiative, almost 200 hectares of peatland have been restored on Islay, including Glenmachrie Moss that is harvested annually to make Laphroaig’s floor malt. The whisky-maker has one of the largest communities of whisky fans, known as Friends of Laphroaig (FoL). Launched in 1994, the same year HM King Charles granted the brand a Royal Warrant, this global following has since grown to over 700,000 people in over 170 countries, all invited to claim a plot of peatland on Islay.
The distillery welcomes visitors to be immersed in the spirit of the whisky and its rich history. Experiences include discovering more about the traditional processes and the people who crafted this iconic whisky through generations, to tasting a private collection of legacy bottles – some of its oldest and most exclusive drams.
