ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. – Give 270, a nonprofit based in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, is partnering with the Glendale Volunteer Fire Department to host a charity raffle on June 3, giving participants the chance to win an International Harvester M1 Garand “Tractor Gun” from the Civilian Marksmanship Program. All proceeds from the Safe & Sound raffle will benefit the WHAS Crusade for Children.

The M1 Garand is one of the most iconic American military rifles, widely used during World War II and the Korean War. This particular rifle, bearing serial number 5047267 and marked “U.S. Rifle, Cal. .30 M1” with International Harvester designation, is part of a limited run produced in the 1950s. Often nicknamed the “Tractor Gun” due to the company’s farm equipment roots, International Harvester models are especially sought after by collectors for their unique origin and Cold War-era production.

Established in 1954 by WHAS-TV, the WHAS Crusade for Children raises funds for agencies, schools and hospitals working to improve the lives of children with identified needs. Since its founding, the Crusade has generated more than $222 million. Thanks to generous donations of goods and services, 100 percent of contributions are returned directly to organizations serving children across all 120 Kentucky counties and more than 30 counties in southern Indiana. Each year, local fire departments account for more than half of the total raised.

“The WHAS Crusade for Children is a cause that means a great deal to everyone at the Glendale Volunteer Fire Department, and each year we strive to make a meaningful impact,” said Glendale Volunteer Fire Department Chief Dave Black. “We’re proud to partner with Give 270 to offer this incredible prize, all in support of children across our region.”

The Safe & Sound raffle will take place live on Give 270’s YouTube channel on Wednesday, June 3 at 8 p.m. Only 1,000 tickets are available at $25 each now through the day of the drawing at 7 p.m. There is no limit to the number of tickets participants can purchase, subject to availability. Licensed dealer, Wood’s Armory Gun Sales & Service of Elizabethtown will distribute the prize. Tickets can be purchased by visiting give270.org and clicking Safe & Sound.
