Chattanooga Whiskey announced the latest Bottled in Bond Vintage Series release: Spring 2019 Vintage. This fifth release in the series was crafted exclusively at the Chattanooga Whiskey Riverfront Distillery and made from various unique bourbon mash bills – each comprised of at least 25% specialty malted grains.

To be labeled Bottled in Bond, a bourbon must be the product of one distillation season, one distiller, from one distillery, and in one style. It must be aged in a federally bonded warehouse for at least four years and bottled at 100 proof.

Barreled from January 2019 through June 2019, Chattanooga Whiskey’s Spring 2019 Vintage features two high malt mashbills familiar to the BIB series: SB091, their signature “Barrel 91” recipe, and B005, a wheated high malt recipe. In addition, 40% of the entire blend was aged in custom-toasted and charred barrels, which add additional layers of rich complexity to the final whiskey.

“Each Bottled in Bond vintage is an opportunity for our distillers to express the wide range of flavors and aromas inherent to our Tennessee High Malt style,” said Grant McCracken, Founding Distiller and CPO. “This vintage highlights the interplay between two of our more delicately flavored mash bills and uses a portion of long-toasted barrels to add additional layers of confectionary-rich complexity.”

Made in four batches of ten barrels each, this limited release offers notes of pecan praline, vanilla custard, and figgy pudding with a warm, toasty oak finish. Bottled in Bond: Spring 2019 Vintage will be available at the Chattanooga Whiskey Experimental Distillery and across TN, GA, FL, TX, IL, IN, and SC at a suggested retail price of $52.99 for a 750ml bottle.
