HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. — A previously announced deal to sell Casey Jones Distillery to B3 Beverage has fallen through, with the Hopkinsville bourbon producer saying it will remain independently operated while exploring other opportunities for its future.

Casey Jones Distillery announced that the proposed transaction with B3 Beverage was not completed. The distillery did not disclose why the deal failed to close or provide financial details of the proposed transaction.

Despite the collapse of the sale, Casey Jones said its operations are continuing without interruption, including spirits production, tours, tastings and events.

“As founders and owners, we’re proud of what we’ve built over the past 12 years,” said Arlon Casey Jones. “While this particular transaction did not move forward, our focus is on the future and continuing to move Casey Jones Distillery forward.”

The announcement keeps the western Kentucky distillery under its existing ownership following a period in which a change of control had been anticipated.

Casey Jones Distillery said its immediate priorities will include strengthening its operations, supporting employees and maintaining its visitor experience while evaluating opportunities that could support the company’s long-term future.

The company did not indicate whether it plans to seek another buyer, pursue an outside investment or continue operating under its current ownership structure indefinitely.

“We have a strong team in place, and I feel good about where the distillery is headed,” Jones said.

Casey Jones Distillery has operated in Hopkinsville for more than a decade and has built its identity around the Jones family’s history of constructing illicit copper stills during Prohibition.

The distillery has since developed into a bourbon and tourism destination in western Kentucky, producing a portfolio of Kentucky spirits while offering tours, tastings and events.

Its continued operation is also significant for Christian County’s growing bourbon tourism presence. Western Kentucky has attracted increased investment from distillers and related businesses as Kentucky’s signature bourbon industry has expanded beyond its traditional concentration in central Kentucky.

Casey Jones said guests should expect no changes to normal operations following the unsuccessful transaction.

The Jones family and distillery staff thanked customers and supporters and said the business remains focused on its next stage of growth.
