ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. — Give 270 is bringing sought-after Van Winkle bourbons to its latest Whiskey Wednesdays charity raffle, with a grand-prize choice between a six-bottle “Pappy” collection and a two-bottle vintage package featuring whiskey from 1988.

The Elizabethtown-based nonprofit’s Round 21, titled “Pappy Palooza Vertical or Vintage,” runs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. from Oct. 7 through Dec. 23. Tickets cost $5 each, with proceeds supporting automotive repairs and transportation assistance through the Elizabethtown Community and Technical College Student Emergency Assistance Fund.

The round combines weekly bourbon drawings with a final opportunity for one winner to receive the package selected when purchasing tickets.

For students facing an unexpected repair bill or unreliable transportation, the fundraising effort is intended to help address problems that can interfere with getting to class and completing an education.

“We’re excited to bring Pappy Palooza back for another round, especially with a cause that hits close to home,” said Eric Clemens, Give 270 board chair.

“Give 270 co-founder Kenny Rambo and I were both fortunate to have grandfathers who mentored and supported us, and sparked our lifelong passion for cars. Supporting the ECTC Student Emergency Assistance Fund is a great way to honor their legacy while helping students overcome transportation challenges that can affect educational access.”

The weekly raffle features 12 locker doors concealing a lineup of Van Winkle prizes. Across the round, the bottles include two Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve 23 Year, three Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve 20 Year, four Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve 15 Year and three Old Rip Van Winkle 10 Year.

Four additional bonus prizes will be awarded each week: Weller 12 Year, Weller Full Proof, Weller Antique 107 and a 1-liter bottle of Weller Special Reserve.

The finale takes place Dec. 23, when all tickets purchased throughout the round return to the tumbler for the grand-prize drawing. The winner will receive whichever of the two packages they selected at checkout.

The six-bottle “Pappy” vertical brings together Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve at 23, 20 and 15 years old, along with Van Winkle Family Reserve Rye 13 Year, Van Winkle Special Reserve Lot “B” 12 Year and Old Rip Van Winkle 10 Year.

That package offers a collection spanning the family’s bourbon lineup and its rye whiskey, with age statements ranging from 10 to 23 years.

The alternative is a two-bottle vintage pair: Van Winkle Selection Pot Stilled Straight Bourbon Whiskey Lot “H” 17 Year and Old Rip Van Winkle 4 Year from 1988.

The choice gives participants two different collecting opportunities — a broad selection of familiar Van Winkle expressions or a pair centered on vintage bottlings.

All raffle drawings will be broadcast live on Give 270’s YouTube channel. There is no limit on the number of $5 tickets an individual may purchase each week.

The latest round connects the nonprofit’s bourbon fundraising with a practical need for local college students, directing proceeds toward transportation assistance that can help them stay on track academically.
