LEXINGTON, Ky. — Ten shoppers at Shady Rays’ Lexington store will have a chance Tuesday to purchase a limited-edition pair of Pappy & Co. Special Reserve sunglasses ahead of the collaboration’s nationwide online launch Wednesday.
Raffle tickets will be available at the Shady Rays store in The Summit at Fritz Farm beginning at 11 a.m. Sept. 29. The store will draw 10 winners at 6 p.m. Participants must be present to win, and each winner will have the opportunity to buy one pair for $250.
Shady Rays and Pappy & Company, both Kentucky-born brands, created an original frame inspired by the Van Winkle family’s history. Its details include filigree based on the Pappy Van Winkle 20-Year label, brass-inspired hardware referencing keys from the Stitzel-Weller Distillery, and a hidden Pappy & Co. mark visible when the temple opens.
The companies say they will produce 999 individually numbered pairs, with no additional production run planned. The sunglasses will launch online Sept. 30 at ShadyRays.com and PappyCo.com.
Purchasers will also be entered into a separate drawing for a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve 20 Year. Entrants must be at least 21, and free entry methods are available. Complete rules and eligibility details are at shadyrays.com/pappy.
