Costco has built a cult following around its $1.50 hot dog and soda combo—a price that hasn’t changed since 1985. Now, the retailer is turning that icon into something far more expensive: a limited-edition bourbon called “I Got That Dog in Me.”
Retailing for $85.99, the bottle features the famous hot dog combo on the label and was developed with Rare Character, known for small-batch, high-quality whiskey. The bourbon itself is no gimmick, aged 11 years and four months, placing it firmly in premium territory.
So far, the release has been extremely limited, appearing only at a Costco in Washington, D.C., with a one-bottle-per-customer limit. Demand has been intense—reports say it sold out within hours of restocking.
Early reviews suggest solid quality, with notes of oak, marshmallow sweetness, spice, and a long finish. Still, many buyers admit the appeal is just as much about the label as the liquid.
That’s what makes this release so interesting. Costco’s Kirkland Signature spirits are typically known for value pricing, often under $40. This bottle flips the script, leaning into scarcity, novelty, and brand loyalty instead of affordability.
Whether it’s a collectible or the start of more premium drops, one thing is clear: Costco’s hot dog just made the jump from the food court to the top shelf.
