NEW YORK (Oct. 27, 2025)World Whiskey Society (WWS) has introduced the Henry Deringer American Single Malt Aged 8 Years, a cask-strength whiskey honoring the inventor of the pocket pistol.

Bottled at 61% ABV (122 proof), the whiskey pays tribute to Henry Deringer, whose small cap-lock pistol, created in 1825, became widely known for its compact design and accuracy. The release celebrates the inventor’s precision and daring spirit, qualities WWS says are reflected in the whiskey.

“The story of Henry Deringer is one of daring and precision — qualities we’ve brought to life in every drop of this whiskey,” said Alex Kogan, CEO of World Whiskey Society. “This 8-year single malt honors the fearless spirit that helped define the American frontier and continues to inspire the world of whiskey today.”

The whiskey features aromas of malted barley and wildflower honey, with hints of dried apricot, light caramel, molasses, and toffee. On the palate, it is smooth and well-rounded, starting with honeyed malt and stone fruit, followed by deeper notes of caramel, toffee, and a touch of black tea. The finish is long, with lingering malt sweetness, fruit preserves, and toasted grains.

Henry Deringer American Single Malt Aged 8 Years is available online through the WWS shop and at select retailers nationwide, with a suggested retail price of $99.99.

Founded in 2020, World Whiskey Society specializes in ultra-premium and rare whiskies, offering globally sourced expressions and collaborations with distilleries to create unique, small-batch releases.
