LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 29, 2025) — Town Branch Distillery, the seventh member of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail® and part of Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co., has released a rare 16-year-old Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky Single Malt Whiskey as Volume 2 of its Archive Series.
This single-barrel, non-chill filtered expression is bottled at 100 proof and carries a suggested retail price of $399.99 for a 750ml bottle.
The Archive Series
Introduced in 2024, the Archive Series showcases Town Branch’s collection of rare American single malts, including the oldest Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky Single Malt Whiskeys ever released. Each edition in the series highlights the distillery’s craftsmanship and commitment to preserving Kentucky’s malt whiskey heritage.
“Releasing a whiskey like this is both an honor and a privilege,” said Robert Krass, managing director at Town Branch Distillery. “It showcases the breadth of whiskey production in Kentucky beyond bourbon. Our team is proud to continue making history, one whiskey at a time.”
Volume 2: 16-Year Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky Single Malt
Barrel No. 223, filled July 15, 2009 (Lot 09G15), was aged for 16 years in former Kentucky bourbon barrels before being bottled in 2025. The whiskey opens with aromas of marzipan, cinnamon oatmeal, dried fruit and honey, followed by flavors of baking spice, buttercream, coconut and black cherry. The finish is long and elegant, featuring notes of sweet oak, orange peel and vanilla.
Only 57 bottles of this release are available.

A Legacy of Innovation
Town Branch Distillery, the first new distillery built in Lexington since Prohibition, continues to bridge Kentucky’s bourbon legacy with the traditions of single malt whiskey. The distillery uses dual Forsyths copper pot stills imported from Scotland — honoring the craft’s roots while producing distinctly Kentucky whiskeys.
Located on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail®, Town Branch Distillery produces award-winning spirits including Town Branch Bourbon, Town Branch Rye, and Town Branch Malt, as well as Bluegrass Sundown, a bourbon-infused coffee liqueur. The distillery also upcycles used barrels to age Lexington Brewing’s celebrated Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale®.
