OXNARD, CA (MARCH 31, 2026) – Sespe Creek Distillery, the craft distillery on California’s Central Coast led by venerated Scottish Master Distiller John Campbell (Laphroaig) announces today that the brand has signed with Dallas-based Misa Imports to bring its Warbringer Mesquite-Smoked Southwest Bourbon collection to Texas. The announcement comes just months after Sespe Creek introduced Batch 22, the first new release blended entirely under Campbell’s direction.
Warbringer is the original commercially-available mesquite-smoked bourbon and is made entirely at Sespe Creek’s Oxnard, California distillery.
“Texas is a key market for any brand, and certainly for a rising craft brand like ours,” said Campbell. “And contrary to popular belief, there are direct throughlines between Texas and the version of California our Warbringer Mesquite-Smoked Southwest Bourbon represents. This isn’t about the glitz of Hollywood or the billionaire tech industry of Silicon Valley. This is the California Buck Owens sang of in ‘Streets of Bakersfield’. This is the bare-knuckled California boomtowns of the 19th century that had ten saloons to every church. We look forward to sharing this version of California with Texas.”
In addition to Texas, Misa will also distribute Sespe Creek products in Colorado. Warbringer Original is available now in Colorado. In coming months, whiskey lovers in Texas and Colorado will have access to Warbringer Warmaster, Cowboy, and Bullet editions.
