PLANO, Texas — Brother’s Bond Bourbon is expanding its reach through a partnership with JetBlue, bringing its Straight Bourbon to the airline’s onboard spirits selection in a 50-milliliter format.
The offering became available Oct. 1, giving passengers an opportunity to discover the whiskey brand founded by actors Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley during their travels.
Announced Oct. 5, the partnership adds an airline sales channel as Brother’s Bond continues to expand its presence in the United States and internationally. For the brand, the small-format offering provides another setting for consumers to sample its flagship bourbon.
“Brother’s Bond was created around friendship, connection and our shared passion for making exceptional bourbon. Having our bourbon served onboard JetBlue is an exciting milestone for us,” said Somerhalder, co-founder of Brother’s Bond.
“We love the idea that people can discover Brother’s Bond while traveling, connecting with friends and family or heading somewhere new,” said Wesley, the brand’s co-founder.
Brother’s Bond Straight Bourbon is made from four grains: corn, rye, wheat and malted barley. It is aged for a minimum of four years and described by the company as having a smooth, balanced character and approachable flavor profile.
The brand recommends enjoying the bourbon neat, on the rocks or with a mixer. The onboard release uses the same Straight Bourbon offered to consumers in its larger bottle formats, packaged in a 50-milliliter serving.
The JetBlue agreement places Brother’s Bond in a travel environment where passengers may encounter the brand for the first time. It also extends the founders’ emphasis on shared experiences, introducing the bourbon to customers traveling to see friends and family or visit new destinations.
The announcement did not specify onboard pricing or identify particular routes for the offering.
