In a bourbon world increasingly crowded with limited releases and lofty claims, Wyoming Whiskey continues to let place, patience, and process do the talking. The distillery’s newest release Barrel Strength Bourbon Whiskey #6429 is a powerful reminder of what happens when craftsmanship and climate align. This rare single-barrel expression stands among the highest tier of Wyoming Whiskey’s production, selected to be bottled on its own rather than blended, and offered exactly as it came from the barrel.
Chosen From the Best
Barrel Strength #6429 was hand-selected by Master Blender Brendan Cook from the very top one or two barrels resting in Wyoming Whiskey’s rickhouses in Kirby, Wyoming. These barrels are set apart not by chance, but by exceptional character—barrels deemed worthy of representing the absolute best the distillery has to offer.
Rather than blending this whiskey into a broader batch, Wyoming Whiskey chose to honor its individuality. Bottled as a true single-barrel expression, #6429 showcases the raw, unfiltered personality that only barrel-strength bourbon can deliver.
Barrel Proof, No Compromises
Bottled at barrel proof (124 proof / 62% ABV), Barrel Strength #6429 preserves maximum flavor, richness, and texture. This is bourbon in its purest form—untamed, unapologetic, and deeply expressive. Wyoming Whiskey describes it best: “This is the true test of the spirit, and as pure as bourbon-making and whiskey-drinking can be.”
Production is extremely limited. Due to the intense Wyoming climate and variable angel’s share, yields fluctuate from barrel to barrel. In most years, fewer than 500 bottles of Barrel Strength bourbon are released, making each bottling a rare find for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
Grain to Glass in the Big Horn Basin
Every Wyoming Whiskey expression is handcrafted from grain to glass and aged a minimum of five years in newly charred oak barrels. The distillery’s location in the Big Horn Basin plays a defining role in the final whiskey. Dramatic temperature swings hot summers and frigid winters, force the whiskey deep into the oak and back again, intensifying barrel interaction and concentrating flavor.
At barrel strength, these effects are magnified, resulting in a bourbon that is bold, layered, and unmistakably shaped by its environment.
