Woodford Reserve is celebrating Bourbon Heritage Month with a sweet surprise. The distillery is releasing its new limited-edition Honey Barrel Finish bottle as part of its annual Distillery Series.
The distillery used honey barrels to finish the bourbon that was locally sourced in Woodford County, Kentucky
That local farmer then aged his honey in the barrels, which were later returned to Woodford Reserve’s distillery, where they were refilled with bourbon to create a subtly sweet, 90.4 proof spirit.
The result, is a bourbon that has a raw honey color that features is fragrant that includes notes of brown sugar, honeysuckle, toasted coconut and honey graham cracker.
Honey Barrel Finish is part of Woodford Reserve’s Distillery Series, available in limited quantities with a purchase limit of two bottles per person at the Woodford Reserve Distillery and limited Kentucky retailers. There are just three annual releases of the brand’s Distillery Series.
