In honor of Bourbon Heritage Month, Lost Lantern is delighted to introduce Far-Flung Bourbon III (SRP $100). Bottled at cask strength (124.8 proof), the third iteration of Lost Lantern’s flagship bourbon is a tribute to the spirit of exploration. It unites straight bourbons from six celebrated distilleries across six states—Frey Ranch (NV), Wollersheim (WI), Rock Town (AR), Rich Grain (MS), Still Austin (TX), and Smooth Ambler (WV). The blend is a seamless expression of American whiskey: layered, complex, and rich in both story and flavor.
On the nose, it shows rich oak spice, caramel, and chocolate-covered espresso beans. The palate reveals warm oak, lemon bars, and toasted almonds, leading into a long, rich, and spicy finish.
“This is our most ambitious Far-Flung Bourbon yet,” said Nora Ganley-Roper, Co-Founder and Head Blender. “Blending whiskey from six distilleries across six states isn’t always easy, but when it comes together, the result reflects the true diversity of American bourbon. Each Far-Flung release is its own adventure, yet they all share a common thread that ties them into one family.”
She added, “As an independent bottler, we get to paint with more colors than any single distillery ever could. The challenge is making those colors harmonize, but when it finally snaps into place, the blend tells a story no single distillery whiskey could tell on its own.”
Lost Lantern, the award-winning independent bottler founded by Nora Ganley-Roper and Adam Polonski, shines a light on the country’s most distinctive distilleries through rare single casks and masterful blends. Their releases celebrate the breadth of American whiskey and the landscapes that shape it.
