ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky  – By bringing people together around bourbon, a Kentucky non-profit is turning a shared passion into a force for good. Give 270 has officially surpassed $2 million in charitable giving, reaching the milestone following a recent $62,500 donation to CASA of the Heartland.

Founded in 2016 and based out of Elizabethtown, Give 270 supports regional community, economic and workforce development by raising funds for other area nonprofit organizations and local initiatives. Funds are raised through crowdfunding efforts, bourbon raffles and signature events.

“Reaching the $2 million milestone reflects the incredible community that has grown around our raffles and events, and we’re deeply grateful for their continued support,” said Eric Clemens, board chairman for Give 270. “We’re especially grateful for the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on amazing local organizations like CASA of the Heartland.”

The recent donation to CASA of the Heartland was made possible through proceeds from Round 17 of Give 270’s weekly Whiskey Wednesdays bourbon raffle series. This round marked the third installment of the annual “Pappy Palooza” series, which benefits CASA of the Heartland.

The funds will be used to recruit additional volunteers and continue supporting current advocates who serve some of the community’s most vulnerable children. CASA volunteers are court-appointed advocates for area children navigating the foster care and family court systems, and the organization relies on strong community support and partnerships to carry out its mission.

“Support like this is critical as CASA of the Heartland continues to expand and grow to meet the needs of children in our community,” said CASA of the Heartland Executive Director Michelle Kail. “We are very thankful for Give 270’s ongoing support of our work.”

The $2 million donations over the past nine years have supported many worthwhile causes across the Commonwealth including storm recovery, Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland, United Way of Central Kentucky, Wreaths Across America, Baptist Health Foundation, USA Cares, LifeVac choking rescue devices for school districts, Honor Flight Bluegrass for veterans, and the Louisville Metro Police Foundation, among many others.

“We’re excited to mark the $2 million milestone, and we are already underway in raising the next million in support of other non-profits and worthwhile causes,” Clemens said.
