Frey Ranch has a new Malted Four Grain Single Barrel Bourbon. Formerly known as Frey Ranch Quad Malt is reemerging as Frey Ranch Malted Four Grain Bourbon – both in a HOTLY ANTICIPATED 750ml Single Barrel format and the original 375ml 90-proof format.
At $114 a bottle, these three distinct Single Barrel Bourbons are their first foray into releasing a high proof whiskey featuring malted versions of their core four grains – 100% non-GMO corn, winter rye, winter wheat and two-row barley – all slow-grown on the Frey Farm.
In addition, they are are re-releasing the “OG” 375 ml bottle format with Batch #3 of Frey Ranch Malted Four Grain Bourbon (which you may have tasted under its previous name “Frey Ranch Quad Malt”) for $59.00 – a sassy, little stocking stuffer for the whiskey adventurer in your life!
While the name ON the bottle may have changed, the whiskey IN both of these bottle sizes is still deliciously intriguing and complex. Think of BIG, BOLD, BOISTEROUS flavors that are impacted tremendously by the additional malting process.
Both of these Malted Four Grain Bourbon expressions use the same mash bill as our award-winning flagship Four Grain Straight Bourbon. The difference is that each of these grains, instead of only the barley, are malted on-site utilizing Colby’s custom-made malt drum. Inspired by his fascination with the malting process, Colby malts the grains in a custom-made steep tank and germination/kilning drum before they’re milled and distilled right here at the Ranch.
Two Malted Four Grain Bourbon Single Barrels for sale in their online whiskey store starting October 17 at 10am PT – Barrel #3041 and Barrel #599. The following day – Saturday, October 18 – they’ll release Barrel #3043 in the Frey Ranch Tasting Room from 11am-4pm PT.
